Dutch landscape: pijpestrootje

This landscape study was based of photograph I took in the Netherlands. This yellow grassy landscape is a result of nitrogen polution, it isn’t that good for the ecology actually. However, its been such an iconic landscape in my childhood, that I really wanted to paint it, just to properly grasp those tufts of grass. As well as those strange gray summer skies that I’ve always though of as weirdly magical.
